John A. Barnhill
John A. Barnhill served as a soldier with the New Hanover Regiment (Nixon's) in the
War of 1812. He was inducted as a Private and discharged as a Private.
(Roll Box 11, Roll Exc 602).
He married Susanna Melvin and resided in New Hanover County until his move into the
NE Side of the Cape Fear River (Frenches Creek area, now Kelly) in Bladen County
between after 1840 and prior to 1850.
He died after 1850 and prior to 1860 census in Bladen County, NC.
He and wife Susanna were parents of 10 known children.
