James J. Barnhill
James J. Barnhill served as a soldier with the New Hanover Regiment (Nixon's) in
the War of 1812. He was inducted as a Private and discharged as a Private.
(Roll Box 11, Roll Exc 602).
He married, wife unknown and resided in New Hanover County until his move into
the NE Side of Cape Fear River (Frenches Creek area, now Kelly) in Bladen County
between 1820 and 1830.
He died after 1860 in Bladen County, NC.
He was the father of at least 8 children, possibly more.
