Alexander Barnhill
Alexander Barnhill served as a soldier with the New Hanover Regiment (Nixon's) in the
War of 1812. He was inducted as a Private and discharged as a Private.
(Roll Box 11, Roll Exc 602).
He married Darkis Phillips in New Hanover County where they resided until their move to
the NE Side of Cape Fear River (Frenches Creek area, now Kelly) in Bladen County
between 1820 and 1830.
He died sometime after 1846 and prior to 1850 in Bladen County.
He and Darkis were parents of at least 11 children, possibly 12.
